Special precautions against lions are being taken /this time. . '-i The giruifoi will be taken to the Pretoria Zoo first for the necessary hardening process. Then they will probably, be shipped from Captown. When they reach Capetown they will have travelled, by road and raii, 1800 miles from their native haunts.' That these giraffes have been secured for Australia is largely due to the interest taken in the matter by the Prime Minister of South Africa, "General Smuts.
