«n. FORMATION IN AUCKLAND. The formation of a . Spanish Club in Auckland-' was decided on at a meeting of those '„' interested, held in the University Building last .evening. M. Paul Serre, .French .. Consul, . presided over an ; attendance. of about : 50.' It, was decided that the club, which will be open to those speaking Spanish, be of a social nature, while in connection with it learners' classes will be formed. About a score of persons who speak Spanish • were present fast evening and conversations ' were carried on in 'that tongue. M. Paul Serre was elected president and Mr.- P. S. Ardern secretary and treasurer. .It was decided to hold the first meeting >of the Club in about a month's time, and in the mean- . time a committee is to \ draft rules.
