PHILIPPINES DEADLOCK
GENERAL WOOD'S POSITION. DEMAND : FOR RECALL./ A. and N.Z. • NEW YORK. July,24. The political situation in Manila is exceedingly grave. Both Houses of the Legislature unanimously adopted a resolution approving the . resignation of the. Filipino members of the Cabinet, and asking President Harding to recall the Governor, General Leonard Wood, who has not yet taken any steps to fill the vacancies in the Cabinet. It is intimated from Washington that Mr. Harding approves of General Wood's action in the present crisis.
