ALLEGED FALSE PRETENCE.

Wednesday. ; • Herbert MaoKnelly was charged in the Police Court to-day with fraud by obtaining £100 from \ Hart by false pretences. It was stated that the accused caused an : advertisement offering" a working partnership of ,£2OO and 'guaranteeing £8 to £10 weekly to be published. ~ Hart responded and an interview was arranged. The accused said he,had a business in Albert ' Street, Auckland, -. for " advertising in the school journal. . The accused claimed &ole • rights. . As a result Hart advanced £100. Upon ascertaining that accused did ; not possess the rights as represented, Hart informed the police. Accused was committed 'for trail. Bail was fixed at £200. v 1
