GLASS-BLOWING DISPLAY. .'.< An effort is being made by the resi- ; dents of Penrose to raise funds for erect- [■' Ing a public hall, which, in view of the recent rapid settlement 0! the district, is urgently needed. With a desire to help 3 the committer that has the project in '■• hand, the management of the Australian Bottle and Glass Manufacturing Company has arranged to give a demonstra1. tion of glass blowing and bottle making at tho Penrose Works this evening. The demonstration should prove particularly interesting, as. the industry is new to the Dominion, and the company has arranged special accommodation < and lighting for the benefit of the large gathering expected; A special train ( leaving Auckland at half-past seven 1 o'clock, returning, leaving Penrose at 9.30 p.m., will enable visitors from the city to witness the display. A band will be in attendance, and as the proceeds of the demonstration will go to the committee the hall ..'.. funds should materially benefit.
