Dr. Lasker, former chess champion of the world, won' the Czecho-Slovakian chess tournament with 104 points out of a possible 12 against the strongest young chess masters of Europe. Dr. Lasker's victory, was a remarkable vindication of his skill after an abstention of 10 , years from tournaments. . . Other scores •. were Reti 94, Urunfela 84, Silesdieff 74, and Euwe and Tartakover 7 each. Dr. Lasker, who. is a native of Germany, but has long resided in New York, was chess champion of the world from 1894 until April, 1921, when he retired from a- series of games with Capablanca, of Cuba. , .
