The Harbour Board would doubtless be qllite willing, and probably the City Council would also, to see that such control was provided. - V Mr. W. K. Howitt said that Mr. Henderson's statement simplified matters greatly. - . ; , Mr. Henderson said that with the happy-go-lucky way that - traffic poured out of the Ferry Buildings now.it. was a wonder there were not many accidents. The Chairman, Mr. F. Heldt: I think a resolution from the chamber would strengthen Mr. Henderson's hands. On the motion of Mr. Heldt, seconded by Dr. Hagen, it was resolved that the chamber, "realising the importance of the railway to the new Prince's Wharf, con-j siders ' that,' ' provided traffic. is j handled judiciously during rush hours, j and trains do not run during these hours; and that the City ; Council undertake' the proper regulation of the pedestrian traffic, the interests of the travelling public will Da adequately safeguarded." r : . ; . • 1 j
