July 19. in conjunction - with ou-.r ordinary fortnightly nxturo wo held, a special dairy sale which was well supported. 200 dairy cows and heifers being penned. For all good sorts there was better competition, nice quality Jersey heifers makinff from £11 to £13; other Jersey and Jersey cross. £ 8 10s to £10 10s; best Shorthorn heifers. £6 10s to £10 6s; good cows. £8 10s to £10 15s; fair, £0 to £8; others. £1 to £5 IBs; for anything poor or undersized there was little demand. The advertised line from the Kins Country were in low condition but met with a good sale, making up to £10 15a for the best. Fat and store cattle came forward in fair numbers, practically everything being sold with the exception of a line of small unfinished steers. . Small fat steers brought £6 17s; prime fat cows, £5 to £6 18s; otheks. tollable cows. £3 153 to £4 15s; forward cows,' £2 to £3: stores, £1 10s to £1 17s 6d: oa.lves, 18s to £1 lGs; Jersey calves, to £4 lQs. : A larger number of pigs were yarded and met with strong competition. All classes of stock were- hard to quit.
