MORE LAND FOR SCHOOL.
WAHAROA WATER SUPPLY.

For a considerable time the Morrinsvillo School Committee has been endeavouring to obtain a grant from th© Education Department to procure more land for school purposes. A telegram has been received from th© Hon. C. J. Parr by the chairman, informing him that the Cabinet has approved of securing two acres adjoining the new school, at a cost of £900. The sub-committee appointed by the Waharoa Progressive League to collect data, relative to the establishment of a water supply in Waharoa submitted letters from tho managing director of the New Zealand Dairy Company, th© Matamata Town Board, and Messrs. Gannon and Worley, but after discussion it was considered the scheme was too costly to proceed with, and the matter was abandoned for the present. The Morrinsville-Tauhei road is still in a deplorable condition, owing to the continued wet weather. The worst part is through the Mangateparu Soldiers' Settlement. It is still unsafe for motor-cars, and horse-drawn vehicles have a trying time. . ~, A special meeting of the Morrmsville Borough Council was held to hear objectors through whose properties the inner area sewerage goes. Fourteen ratepayers had written objecting, but after the _ engineer had interviewed them, 11 withdrew their objections.
