A meeting of Tauhei ratepayers from the Waikato arid Piako Counties met m the Tauhei Hall to consider the proposal to proceed with a loading ■ scheme, -. and also to merge a portion of the Tauhei district now in the Waikato County into the Piako County. The question of proceeding with a roading scheme appeared to depend on whether the Waikato County ratepayers were willing to join the Piako County, as the Piako County ratepayers present considered that 'the Tauhei settlers in the Waikato County used the road to j JklorrinsviUe ; and did not contribute: toward j its upkeep. Those in the Piako appeared: averse to making a good road for the usa of others who did not help to pay for it, The meeting was addressed by Mr. W. F. Stark (M.orrinsville Biding. representative on the Piako County Council)' and Mr. W. J. Gibbs (Piako County engineer). Mr. E. C.
