FLETCHER MILKING - MACHINE STAND.

CREATING MUCH INTEREST AMONG

, DAIRYMEN.

An exhibit which is creating much interest at the Auckland Winter Exhibition is the display of the 1923 model of the Fletcher Milking' Machine exhibited by Civil Bros., of Warkworth. The 1923 Model "Fletcher supersedes all previous models of this popular milking, plant. The low price, economical and sanitary improvements, place this machine on a high el of efficiency, there being..no place in the whole machine where milk can lodge without being

With ;,he approval of the Government Dairy liepartinent, the firm have made the air pipe line of similar tubing to the milk pipe lines, aud it is dismantled in the samfl manner. The air pipeline from the releaser to the drip can is also tinned brass piping and . can be taken dov/n after each- milking; The enps, which have only four parts, including inflation, continue to give the greatest satisfaction. They are strong, durable, and do not fall off. and will milk the hardest cow. Sore teats and bad quarter arc.-unknown. Civil Bros, are also agents for the Naylor Valve, -which is being demonstrated aft this stand. This valve is suitable for use on any make of machine, and is efficient and sanitary, as it closes off automatically the instant the cup falls from the cow that is being milked, thus preventing loss of vacuum and! infection of milk. It would pay all visiting dairvmen to make it their business to visit the stand of the " Fleidher," and see for themselves the merits of the above.

ABNORMAL MILEAGE. '' WHERE QUALITY COUNTS. " STAR " CORD MOTOR TYRES. Nothing is so important in, a, tyro as the mileage it will give to the user. Wear resistance in a tyre betokens quality and construction, and it is in these* important factorß that the " Star " Cord Tyre makes its special appeal. to motorisSs"*arid users of motor vehicles generally. The predominating feature, quality, is well emphasised in the artistic ; display which the distributors of these tyres have arranged at the Auckland Winter Show. Prominently set up in the centre of the exhibit is a Star truck cord tyre 40 x 8, rugged in structure and 6uperb in finish. There is also a Star cord motor-cycle tyre on view, the first of its kind to reach New Zealand. This is 26 x 3 in size, but there are others 28 x 3 available. The Star tread cord is a hand-mado cover with a new tread construction, built up on three ribs and with the outer edges bevelled off to prevent chipping. • The claim for durability made for these tyres is substantially supported by the evidence of the third item in the exhibit, a used 35 x 5 Star cord. This is one of a pair of tyres which were put on a local Limousine taxi car over twelve months ago, and subjected to all the gruelling wear that the suburban roads can give. This tyre is just worn down to the canvas and the other is still in service, and on a car which weighs well over two tons empty. In addition to the usual service these tyres were subjected to a severe test at Muriwai last March when the car took part in the motor races. Travelling at a high speed the car skidded for 40 yards en some of the turns thus putting enormous stresses on the side walls of the tyres, but as an inspection of the tyre on view will show, the wear has been smooth and there-has been no chipping of the side walls. The claim for abnormal mileage has been amply proved and as the distributors have on hand Star cords ranging from 26 x 3 through all the intermediate car and truck sizes up to the 40 x 8, it will bo seen that all users of motors are well catered for.
