BURMAN-MYERS WEDDING
CEREMONY IN LONDON. •■; [PROM "OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] . ; LONDON. Juno 15. "?A wedding of special New Zealand interest was solemnised yesterday ; at the West London Synagogue, Upper Berkeley Street. The bride, who has a great 'many friends in the Dominion, was Miss Reha Miriam. Myers, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo. M. Myers, ox" Auckland. •> Th«i Bridegroom was Mr. Albert Julian. Bur., man, only son of i,.tip; late Mr. : : J. Burman, and Mrs. Burman. Invitations jert sent to 250 people, all of whom were present, at the marriage ceremony as well as lat the subsequent reception, which took place at the Hyde Park Hotel, i ■/..>;..!. The ricihly-dcoorated .Synagogue''.'.is', an ideal place for such a ceremony. "The white canopy, which . /wedding took place, waa beautifully arranged with white Madonna lilies and,,white hydrangeas, while giant trees of growing oranges stood guard at each corner. The service was choral and was very impressively sung in Hebrew, by a special choir led by Miss . Dane, a : well-known vocalist, whoso rendering of the 84th psalm • was very fine. - The singers were, stationed at the back of , the organ • screen and,.wer» not visible but their voices told out with' remarkable effect. The guests were met by the groomsmen, Messrs, ■ Ge.offrey Myers, Kenneth Myers ' (brother and cousin respectively of the bride), Justin Richardson and Woolf—and shown :to their seats. The Rev. Isodore Harris, M.A., Rabbi of the Synagogue, awaited beneath the canopy th« arrival of' the bridal party. • The bride, who came with her father, was accompanied by four bridesmaids an<i by a little trainbearer. The bridesmaids were the Misses Marjot'ie Myers (daughter of Colonel and Mrs. Bernard Myers, cousin of the bride), Nina Cohen,' Nora Lewis, and Kathleen Samuel; the tiny train-bearer was Miss Marirot Benjamin, Mr. Stuart Essingen accompanied tho bridegroom.
