OHINEWAI STORE BURNED.
POST OFFICE ON PREMISES.
300 LETTERS DESTROYED.

HAMILTON, Monday.
A serious fire occurred at Ohinewai on Saturday evening shortly after nine o'clock when the large general store owned and occupied by Mr. E. A. Jones was totally destroyed, together with its contents. The insurance is not yet available, but it is understood that Mr. Jones' loss is £1000. :
The Post and Telegraph Office rented a portion of tho premises, and the department's property, including fittings and 300 letters ' and parcels, were destroyed. Temporary arrangements have been made by the post office for the continuation of the post and telegraph services. Tenders had been called for a new post office at Ohinewai. ?
The origin of the fire is not known.
