UNDER LEAGUE RULES.

THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The management committee of the Auckland Rugby Football League met last evening, the chairman. Mr. W. J. Hammill, presiding. Mr. J.'' Carlaw, who has been a staunch supporter of the code for many years, and who was largely instrumental in the League securing Carlaw Park, was warmly welcomed on his return from a visit to Sydney, where he had been in touch with the League officials. Mr. Carlaw said that a visit of a New Zealand team to New South Wales seemed out of the question this seas<»i owing to the shortage of grounds there. However, there was every prospect of a Sydney team visiting Auckland. ; It seemed assured that Eastern Suburbs would send a team to Auckland in September to play two Saturday matches. The chairman said the League was in communication with the Eastern Suburbs Club and had aeked that a team should visit Auckland' to play two Saturday matches and one Wednesday match, and perhaps a match in the country. Mr. W. T. Kelly was appointed representative of the Auckland League in New South Wales. A request from the Auckland Football Association for the use of No. 1 ground at Victoria Park, which had been allotted to the League, on Saturday, for the match between Philomel and North Shore was granted, provided the Association applied to the City Council for the transfer of the ground. . ; • The New Zealand Council was granted the free use of Carlaw Park on the evenine of Tuesday, June 5. to hold a. seven-a-.«idc competition. . .' Al the meetine of the junior management committee on Tuesdav evening Messrs. A. Freeman, B. Davis, C. Adarnson, W. Mincham. and G.
