Vone in Sydney, seems to be on ft fair way to settlement, and -vail- sections are satisfied. After being at loggerheads for * ■ , years, the representatives of the local, governing bodies and X representatives of/ the advertising , hoarding interest* and „ the various business interests concerned in the continuance of the hoarding business, have at last effected '.-a compromise. t The compromise recognises the right of the hoarding industry to exiat, subject to ■• proper licensing and regulation at the hands of the local authorities The coun- .' cils are to have the long sought for right ;.■•..-;• to take into consideration the proposed ' situation of the hoarding, the nature of the locality, and the shape, size, design, . -'■;\ and appearance of the hoarding.
