The late Earl of Carnarvon directed in his will that he is not to be buried in the Herbert family vault, but his body is to be -taken to a ■ hill overlooking Highclere Castle, his seat at Newbury, Berkshire, which has been a beacon hill since the days of the Armada. He accordingly will bo buried there.
