TE AWAMUTU CLUB. - [by TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AWAMUTU, Wednesday. At the annual meeting of the Te Awamutu Rugby Football Club last night the president, Mr. S. ; H. West, said that at present players did not contribute to the insurance scheme. Last .year the club paid out £11 lis for affiliation and insurance, which was too much of. a drain upon the club's finances, and - only for the ■ fact that they had received very liberal support from enthusiasts the club would oerta-nly . have ended the section with a debit, balance instead of being on the credit side. A new basis of insuring player? was decided upon. The e'ection of officers resulted: President, Mr. West; committee, Messrs- S. Macky, P. Quin, D. Wallace, J. G. Gifford, F. Dales, F. Onin, and D. There was a large attendance, and Mr. W. .J. , Hammill presided. + . The annual report, as published in the Heral,-> of April 6, was adopted. The • statement of accounts showed that receipts for the year totalled £6242, of which gate receipts contributed £5661. The expenditure for the year amounted to £4161 of which th* largest-item was percentages to visiting teams, £1450. ■ The amusement tax amounted to £479, insurance and accident • payments, £291; maintenance -of grounds, £813. ; :-V " : - The chairman referring to last season operations said the financial results of the year were extremely satisfactory.: > The gate receipts showed that - the ■ sport - was popular with the public Credit for this was due 1 to the clubs which had played the game in - the right spirit and kept it at a', high standard.
