TO-DAY'S FORECAST.

GOVERNMENT REPORT.

The Government meteorologist reported last night as follows :—-The indications are for variable winds, moderate to strong westerly prevailing, especially in and southward of Cook Strait; weather fair to cloudy generally, but showery on the West- Coast and in Southern districts. The barometer unsteady, with a falling tendency in the South.

MR. K. K. WRAGGE'S FORECAST. The following weather forecast was supplied to us at seven o'clock last evening by Mr. K. K. Wragge: —Indications point to the approach of the advancing penumbra of a new Antarctic disturbance named Haalah, which should cause unsettled and rainy weather to follow, the South being affected first. In the meantime fair to cloudy conditions should rule. Winds between south-west and north-west, later backing northerly. Sea moderate.
