TO KIDNAP ASQUITH.
CAMBRIDGE STUDENTS FOILED
LONDON. March 8. The Cambridge students who yesterday celebrated the "Opening of Toot-an'-Come-In's' Tomb" planned to provide a climax to the proceedings by kidnapping Mr. Asquith. They arranged to meet him at the station with a motor-car, and diive him into the country, where a "banquet" had been prepared. A bogus telegram reached the organisers of Mr. Asquith's meeting, but they scented a hoax, and assembled ; at the station with supporters, who, aided by railway officials, shepherded Mr. Asquith into his proper car.
