SAWMILL ON FIRE.

DAMAGE STATED AT £250.

[SI TELEGRAPH.—-OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] HAMILTON. W«dnMd»y. A fire occurred at the Waikato Sawmilling Company's timber mill at Hukanui Street, Claudelands, this afternoon. When the Hamilton Fire Brigade arrived a portion of the mill surrounding the boiler was on fire. The brigade did splendid work in confining the fire to one portion of the building, and in saving the mill from total destruction. The damage done to the building was estimated at £100, and that to the machinery and fittings at £150. The building was not insured. The plant and fittings were covered by a policy for £1200 in the Queensland office.
