CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS.
ROUNDS PLAY COMPLETED.
The champion of champions bowling match, under the auspices of the Auckland Bowling Centre, was commenced at the Ponsonby and West End greens yesterday. The weather was fine, and the greens were in perfect condition, being fast and true. The matches were keenly contested, but there were few surprises. A feature of the play was th» excellent games in all the five rounda completed. Maher (West End) made a splendid recovery against Dr. Moir in the third round. At the 14th head Maher was well down at five, when, playing fine bowls, he ran to 13. finishing only one point behind ice winner. In the fifth round Hills and Brookfield played a good game, the former winning on the last head. The folowing are the results:--At Ponsonby.— (Umpire. Mr. H. J. The Auckland bowling centre ■will bold its customary tournament at Easter. The Easter fixture has been steadily increasing in popularity, and provided the weather is good, a moat enjoyable time is anticipated by the welders of wood in the Auckland centre.
