UNDEFENDED DIVORCE.
WIFE OBTAINS A DECREE.
An undefended divorce case was heard by Mr. Justice Stringer in ; the .Supreme Court yesterday, when Emily Annie Mac donald (Mr. Singer) petitioned for dissolution of her marriage with' John Joseph Macdonald on the ground of desertion. Petitioner stated that the marriage took place in 1889 , and there were ; five children. .For a number of years her husband was constantly in drink.v ; He frequently abused her, and was violent in the presence of the > children. ' ■ ' In July, 1919, he caught j her by;; the throat and endeavoured to choke her. She then left home with the children. 1 For ; the past eight years she -had been maintaining herself arid the younger children. , His Honor granted a decree' nisi. u
