The Auckland Education; Board met yesterday, Mr. J. D. McKenrie acting as chairman •in the absence of Mr. E. C. Banks. . ~ The erection of. an . infant school at Hobson Bay was urged by Mr. G. Applications for the constitution of a school district at Ostend and at Tokanui were approved. A memorandum was received from the department regarding a proposal to extend the Takapuna school site by the acquisition of additional land, stating that if local residents would contribute £-60 toward the proposal, the Minister would be prepared to recommend the Government to find the balance of £600.
