VISITOR'S LOSS IN BATHS.
CLAIM AGAINST COUNCIL.
When a visitor from Wanganui was 'n Timaru attending the swimming carnival he lost a gold watch and other articles valued at over £40. They were handed to the caretaker of the bathing sheds on the bay, before the visitor went in for a swim, but the caretaker could not find them when he returned. The visitor put in a claim to the Borough Council, which repudiated liability. The Mayor stated at a recent meeting that the person concerned had decided to take the matter to Court.
