EXISTENCE OF TRUST DENIED, A. and N.Z. WASHINGTON. March 5. The presidents of the Standard Oil Companies operating in the various States, in answer to Mr. La Follette's charges, deny that any combine exists to control prices. Mr. W. C. Teaglc, president of the Standard Oil Company in New Jersey, Etated that the availability of industrial alcohol and other substitute motor fuels at moderate prices fixes a limit beyond which the price of petrol cannot rise.
Oil officials declare that Mr. La Follette's findings are based on wrong premises.
