DANISH COLLIER. FIVE OF CREW RESCUED. COOK SWEPT OVERBOARD. Br Telesraph— Association—Copyaeht (Received 9.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. LONDON, March 5. The trawler Vidette landed at Grimsby the five survivors of the Danish collier Heimdal, 158 tons, which was sunk during a voyage from Swansea to Odense, Denmark. The Heimdal was swept from end to end by gigantic waves off Spurn Head, and the ship's cook was washed overboard. The cargo shifted and produced a dangerous list. The captain and crew had to lash themselves to the masts and send out distress signals. A youth of 17 was fatally crushed between the vessels during the rescue operations, which were carried out in mountainous seas.
