JUVENILES IN TROUBLE.
BOY'S SERIOUS OFFENCE.
SECOND THRASHING ORDERED.
A boy, 15 years of ago, was charged in the Juvenile Offenders Court* on Saturday with assaulting a girl seven years of ageIt was stated by the police that the boy's action really merited the more serious charge of indecent assault. After the little girl herself had been led into Court ana had identified the- lad, the juvenile probation officer said the accused had hither to borne a very good character, and the act was an impulsive one. The magistrate remarked that boys of accused's age were full of impulse, but that he should receive a thrashing. Tho father of the boy said he had already given his son a whipping. The boy was severely admonished and ordered another thrashing by his father to the satisfaction, of the probation officer. He was further ordered to <be placed under the supervision of the probation officer for two years. Four small boys, who had stolen a cricket ball and two sticks of toffee, were admonished and discharged on payment by their parents of the costs, which amounted to 4s &d per boy. Two other lads were admonished tf for stone throwing and street fighting, and another for having stolen some fruit.
