THE MAUNGAKIEKIE CLUB. OPENING OF SEASON FIXED. The committee of the Maungakiekie.Golf Club has decided to open the season at. the ! Mauncakiekie links on April 7, and at the Titirangi links on April 14, with mixed foursomes. .'■■.•* / , i Information was received regarding "the' professional tournament to be held at New ' Plymouth on April -"12, 13, and 14. Prizes to the amount of £150 have been guaran-••! teed. . . I Tho Now Zealand Golf Council forwarded ; a letter which stated that Kirkwood and I Hagen. the noted professionals, hoped to h viptK New Zealand this year and give a; series of exhibitions. They will probably make the trip after playing, in the Eng- ;• lish open championship in June, The council also advised that Mr. Brodie Breeze, an. English player, had donated a 50-guinea silver cup for the amateur championship of New Zealand. He had also donated a medal, which would become the property of the winner, since the cup could ' not bo won outright. ;• ~ ,• . ■ ■■■ The Titirangi links are now in splendid . condition. At Maungakiekie it is expected that the full course will be open for play i early next 'month. . .. ■. ' ■*--
