STOCKS AND SHARES.

There was sustained demand for investment stocks on the Auckland shaxemarket yesterday, priced.. remaining firm in most instances. In Government securities, War Loans, 1930, changed hands at £97 ss, with late buyers offering £97. The 1938 and 1939 issues -were wanted at £97, and the 1927 issue at £97 10s. Soldiers' loans, bonds, sold at £101, late buyers offering £100 17s 6d. Inscribed stock in the same loan had sellers at £101, buyers £100 '10s.. For New Zealand Inscribed Stock, 1927 buyers were offering £97 10s, | for 1929 £97 ss, and for the 1938 and 1939 issues £97 was offered. \ Local bodies* debentures had firm inquiry, hut ' there were no transactions. No business was done in banks. New Zealands wero wanted at 56s 9d, sellers asking 57s 6d. £13 8s 6d was offered for Australasias, holders asking £13 10s. Commercials (prof.) had demand at £6 12s 6d, Now South Wales at £37 ss, with. no sellers quoting? while Nationals had sellers at £6 9s. In insurance New Zealands sold at 27s 3d, late sellers 27s 9d, buyers 275. Nationals had inquiries at 73s; , *and South British had sellers at 38s, with no buyers. No business was done in miscellaneous lines. In mining Waihis sold at ' 31s, more being offered at that price, with buyers 30s 9d. Grand Junctions were of- . fered at 9s Id, buyers.. 8s lOd. New Waiotahis at lOd had buyers at Bd. . Moanataiaris were firmly held at 4s 3d, , buvers 3s lOd. Tho following sales took place: New Zealand War Loan," 1930, £97 ss; Soldiers' Loan (bonds), £101; New Zealand Insurance, 27s 3d; Waihi, 31s. ■
