Thursday. - ; Glorious i weather was experienced for the Whakatane Agricultural and Pastoral Association's 16th annual show which was held iin the ; show grounds./ at ; Taneatua yesterday. It is estimated that there were 2500 visitors to the show. : This number easily constituted a record for. the ; district. Every part of the country was representee, at the show, and it was, an - impressive sight to see over 250 motor-cars lined up . around the enclosure while the occupants watched the ring events. . With regard to . the exhibits of stock, etc.. while perhaps not constituting a Re- • cord, v the- quality made up for any lack of quantity. The dairy cattle were exceptionally good. There was a good showing of Jersey cattle, while the Shorthorns were also noteworthy. The beef cattle made also a creditable display. The awards were as follows :— -.
