The Government meteorologist reported last night as follows r —The indications are for strong south-west to south-east winds northward of Kawhia and Napier, northwesterlies to south- westerlies elsewhere. The weather may be expected to be squally and changeable with rain probable in northern, west coast, and southern districts. The barometer is unsteady with a temporary rising tendency soon. , MR. K. K. WRAGGE'S FORECAST The following weather forecast was supplied to us by Mr. K. K. Wragge at 6.30 p.m.. yesterday : — Distribution of pressure still remains complicated under tropical and Antarctic influence, while high-pressure . is now west of Manukau. Thus fair to cloudy weather with a tendency to some passing rain is likely under winds from between south-east and northeast in the North, and north-west to south-west in the South.
