A message from Paris states that the Marquis Curzon has cabled to General Sir Charles Harington at Constantinople that Britain is still prepared to sign the treaty as submitted to the Turks at Lausanne. The Central News Agency states' that the report of a conference between Isrheb Pasha and General Harington at Constantinople is not confirmed, but more hopeful news has ; been received. The Turks transmitted a verbal message which was much more conciliatory. They promised to rectify a diplomatic difficulty raised by the arrest of an Italian steamer in a Llack Sea port.
