MOANATAIARI. ANOTHER REEF CUT. Another interesting development has occurred in the Caledonia-Kuranui-Moana-taiari mine, Thames. Official information was received at the local office of the company last evening that in the main crosscut behind, and parallel to, the Moanataiari slide, a third reof was cut yesterday morning. The crosscut had been advanced about 40ft beyond the 4ft reef, which was the second to come to hand a week or two ago t when the bore-hole disclosed dark brownish quartz for a depth of some 6ft: Allowing for the angle at which the borehole penetrated the reef, the width of the latter is estimated at from 2ft Gin to 3ft. A ehot was to bo put into the lode by the night shift, so that more information as to the size and quality of the new discovery should be available to-day. MINE MANAGER'S REPORT. New Waiotahi. —The drive on the footwall lead has been advanced sft. The lead is about 4in. thick, and during the week a few colours of gold were seen. In No. -2 stope strong dots of gold were seen in the quartz broken out. Arrangements have" been made for the early crushing of the quartz on hand at the Moanataiari battery. » Ohinemuri.On. the Camoola reef the south drive is now in 879 ft. 6in. The reof is the full width of the drive, with neither wall exposed. The quartz being broken is favourable. ■ .••,
