SPORTS AND PASTIMES.
HOLIDAYS DOWN THE COAST. The resident of Thames has ample means provided for his amusement. Practically every branch of sport is represented in clubs and associations, while the famous Coromandel coastline affords special opportunity for seaside outings and week-end holiday-making. Summer cottages have been erected in large numbers at certain bays, where swimming and boating are popular pastimes. The Thames Jockey Club's annual meeting will be held on Saturday and Monday. Tho racecourse is a source of much pride to the town, a great deal of money having been spent by the club in laying out the grounds and installing modern facilities and appointments.
