SANDERS CUP CONTESTANTS.' BONA SELECTED AS THE TYPE. Some important recommendations from the Dominion council of delegates in connection with the future contests for the Sanders Memorial Cup were adopted- by 'the Auckland. Yacht and Motor-boat Association , last evening. ... - The chairman, Mr. J. B. Johnston, eaid the whole Question of the cup contests bad been discussed in a very friendly spirit,by the delegates representing the vanous provinces. It was -made quite clear that ■■ the Auckland Association, to which the cup was originally donned, would not agree to it being handed over to a Dominion council, though if allowed to exercise .a controlling voice in any important decision the association would agree to the contests ,;•■ being managed by the council. Eules governing the contests would be drawn up \ ana forwarded to tho various provinces for approval. After these had been adopted, tney could not be altered without the consent, or the Dominion council. All the- boats which had competed in test races for the cup would be eligible for future contests and would be registered. New boats, however, must be built to the plan and type of the Kona, the present holder of the cup. . A limited variation of three-eighths of an inch would be allowed in each half section team. Flans and offsets would be prepared by expertfl for the building of the new boats. With a view to encouraging the boats of the Kona type, the chairman stated, be/ had promised to donate a cup which would be" competed for at each Sanders Cup contest.
