CHARGE AGAINST FARMER. § [BY | TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] ;^1 ~ TE AROHA, Tu«iday. . i A well-known Mangaiti farmer was proceeded against at the' To Aroha Police $ Court yesterday ,on a charge- of cruelty to m pigs, it being • alleged by the police that || 24 pigs were shut up in a email and very fjmuddy yard (or a considerable time, and | that of the number several had died from - : exposure. The police said information ' was.- laid by a former employee. The :• 4 magistrate, Mr. J. H. Salmon, said there was no reliable evidence to show that •• the pigs had died through exposure or neglect, and the informant had been actuated by personal motives. ' The case was dismissed. : .
