BRITISH GABLE PROJECT.
OFFER TO PACIFIC BOARD.
Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 4.5 p.m.) . IjONDON, Feb. 10.
The British Government proposes to lay cables between the principal West Indian Islands, via; Bermuda,' ' including Trinidad and Barbados to ' Demarara (British Guiana), supplementing them with a : wireless system to be operated from Turk's Island. Bahamas, to feed smaller centres.
Proposals have been made to the Governments owning the Pacific Cable to permit the Pacific Cable Board to work this new system through their Halifax station.
