[BY TELEGRAPH.'OWN CORRESPONDENT.] , OPOTIKI. Saturday. ' . The members of the committee of the Opotiki Motor-Racing Club and those in charge of the isolation ward movement attended a meeting this week. Arrangements for the carnival in aid of the Opotiki isolation wat'd, which is to take place on Saturday, February 24, were reported to be quite satisfactory. Sub-committees have been formed, which are to have sole charge of the different classes of events. It is anticipated there will be a large attendance of the . public, as an isolation ward is an absolute necessity. The newly-elected board of trustees of the Waiotahj drainage district held their first meeting this week. Mr. Robert Irwin was elected chairman.
