.STATEMENT OF FINANCES. [BY TELEGRAPH.-—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHUBCH. Thursday.
The seventeenth annual conference of the council of the New Zealand Institute of Architects opened yesterday, Mr.; W. M. Page (Wellington) presiding. The delegates were accorded a civic reception. ; .
I Arising out sof the Education • Committee's report, it was .decided to recommend the executive ;to consider the possibility of centralising the examinations in Wellington. ■ : V ;. ;^' ; ;: .:'V^'' V '; / '"'■■ The Finance Committee reported an excess of expenditure over income of £180 2s lOd. The accumulated fund was £399 16s 6d. The sum of £797 16s for (subscriptions remained unpaid. ; It was agreed |to recommend the executive to take action against members .who have not paid their subscriptions. ' r , i It was. resolved to take steps to establish a benevolent fund. The: retiring . president, Mr. C. R. Ford (Wanganui), was re-elected,■;. and the following were elected members of the council for the ensuing year:— B. C. Chilwell, W. D. Gummer, M. K. Draffin (Auckland), J. Greig (Hawke's Bay-Gisbome), T. H. Battle, R. G. Talboys (Taranaki-Wanganui), W. Crichton, F. E. Greenich ; (Wellington), ■ E.£'J. Greenstreet, G. Penlinton (CanterburyJ, L. D. Coombs and 0. E. Macfle (Otago).
