CURE FOR FIRE BLIGHT.
MINING ENGINEER'S CLAIM.
: A claim that he has discovered a cur© for fire blight was made by Mr. W. Greening "at a meeting of the Henderson Fruitgrowers' Association on Saturday evening. He sought the support of the, association in * requesting the Government: to grant him permission to give his treatment a trial in an infected orchard. , .
Mr. Greening, who is a mining engineer and an assayer, stated that when fire blight made its appearance in his orchard he experimented with it. His experiments were highly satisfactory, and he claimed to have discovered a means of preventing the further, spread of the blight. He added that his own orchard was now free of the disease..
