During recent operations ■in Southern •; i% ■ was found necessairy to evacuate the town -of ' Sulaimaniyeh on account of - Turkish bands pressing . down from■•■ tbe J hills. '. A . detachment 'of Rh A.Fi pilots flew fJito the town/and, in spite of a fierce gale, collected ■ some sixty men, women ;and children, together with a detachment of Arab levies, and. transported them to a place of safety. • Various types of aeroplane wore used in the evacuation, the'most interesting being the Vickers;troop-carrier, shown in the picture.
