1,486,000 ON JANUARY 1. A. and N.Z. LONDON, Jani 10. There were 1,486,000 workers registered at the unemployment agencies on January 1, an increase of 127,000 over the number registered on December 16 last, owing to the temporary closing of factories for the Christmas and New Year holidays.
