FINAL RESULT AT WAITOMO. ■ REFORM MAJORITY OF 25. DECLARATIONS NOT ALLOWED. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] TE KUITI. Thursday. After the Magisterial recount on the Waitomo election the final announcement was made as follows: — J.' 0. Rolleston (G.) . . 3418 W. T. Jennings (0.) . . 3393 Majority for Rolleston 25 The figures include only the ordinary and absent votes, the Stipendiary Magistrate having disallowed all the declaratory votes, 45 for Mr. Jennings and 29 for Mr. Rolleston, on the ground that the deputies had not complied with the provisions of the Act in dealing with them in manv cases, and that the returning officer failed to observe the provisions of the same Act by not first ascertaining whether the declarants had the right to exercise declaratory votes prior to his opening the envelopes to ascertain for whom the votes were cast. A decision as to a petition will 1 e made to-night. The figures announced by the returning officer after the official count were as follow; , -.. . Rolleston.
