The land settlement proposals of the New South Wales Government have been f' formulated. It is estimated that 3 34,000,000 acres of good land near railway lines aire available, which will accommodate 25,000 more settlers. Of this land 2,500,000 acres are already open for settlement. It is proposed to resume the baf.ance after a reasonable period has been allowed to the present owners to divide the land voluntarily with the help , of funds supplied by the Rural Bank. The alternative to voluntary surrender will be higher taxation of large estates or finally compulsory resumption. Tho proposals include considerable extension of the existing irrigation areas, which ' will provide many more holdings for prospective settlers. 3 PREMIER'S LONDON VISIT. MEN NOT MONEY WANTED.
