In Government stocks, ■■, Soldiers'" Loan (bonds) changed hands at ; par, with late buyers offering £99 : ; 15a, and no sellers :. at last . call. Inscribed stock in the same loan had demand afc: £100. - There -were no selling quotations at last call, though earlier in the day £100 5s was being asked. For War Loans. 1938" buyers advanced offers to £96 15s, sellers: firm,,at £97.. For the■;', 1939 issua £96 10s was offered, no sellers responding . War .: Loans, 1927, were wanted at £96, sellers asking £96 15s. Inscribed Stock,, 1938 and 1939, had firmer demand at £96 IQs, with sellers of the former at £95 • 15s. In industrial : debentures, BoothMacdonalds sold at £101. In local bodies' debentures, Auckland Harbour Board, 5£ " per cents., had slightly better inquiry at£94 10s, sellers £96 10s. In banks, busij ness was done in New Zcalands at 575, I sellers closing at 575-6d,'buyers at 56s 3d. .For Nationals buyers advanced offers to £6 5s 6d, sellers firm-at £6 lis. New South Wales were looked for at £35. Unions of. Australia had steady demand at £13 lis, sellers £13 18s. In insui--ances, New Zealands at 28s 6d were wanted' at 28s 3d. South British had buyers at 36s 6d, but there were no sellers. Standards sold at 343 6d, more being sought at 33s 6d. In gas, Aucklands (paid up) changed hands at 24s 6(1. Miscellaneous lines were in good demand, but there were no transactions. In mining, Waihis were dene at 34s 9d, - sellers still quoting at that figure, .with late buyers . back to 34s 3d. : Grand Junctions at 10s lOd had buyers at'los 6d.
