SYDNEY SHIPPING.
SLUMP SEVERELY FELT. 80,000 TONS TIED UP. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY, Nov. 16. The shipping depression, largely due to industrial trouble hero and elsewhere, is seriously affecting Sydney. At the present time over '80,000 tons, chiefly inter-Staie steamers and Commonwealth liners,' are idle in the harbour. Some of the shins have been tied up for months awaiting profitable freight, for which Japanese and American ships are now keenly competing, and securing a good deal which previously went to British ships.
