INCREASE MAINTAINED.
WAIKATO'S BUTTER OUTPUT. 45 PER CENT. FOR SEASON. FIGURES FOR LAST MOftTH. [ET TELEGRAPH.—OWN COBRESPOHDENT.] HAMILTON, Thursday. Whilo last season was a record one for butter production in the South Auckland district, showing an increase in output by the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company alone of 48 per cent, on the previous year, the prospects so far this season are even better. Climatic conditious up to the present have been favourable for dairying, intermittent and heavy rains, followed by sunshine, having m . duced a splendid growth of grass everywhere, the country around Waikato being beautifully green and fresh. During the month of October the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company made 2687 tons of butter, as compared with 2172 tons in October of last year, an increase of 23.8 per cent. For the season, up till the end of October, the total output amounts to 6545 tons, cornpared with 4517 tons for the corresponding period in 1921, an increase of 44.9 per cent. If the season continues as well as it has started, the production should be phenomenally high. The better prices that have been ruling recently in dairv produce also offer far brighter prospects than was the case at this time last year.
