SMITH DEFEATS INMAN. A. and N.Z. LONDON, Nov. 12. Both W. Smith and Melbourne Inman played brilliantly during the week in their billiard match of 16,000 up. Inman momentarily secured the lead for tJia first time since the start, but Smith again drew away, and eventually won, the final scores being :— Smith ►« >r. 16,000 Inman ..• ... • 14,200 Smith at one session scored 802 in three visits to the table, of which one was a blank and another 478 unfinished. Inman's break of 551, the highest of the match, was faultless. His other breaks were 416, 403, 404, 267, 262, and 260. Smith's best breaks were 542, 512, 465. 434, 402, 393, and 386.
