COMMUNITY SINGING.
DONATIONS TO CHARITY.
SUM OF £270 DISTRIBUTED.
The sum of £270 has been distributed among various charitable organisations in the city as the result of the weekly com- '■ munity singing in the Town Hall during the winter months. A balance-sheet jnit issued by the promoters shows that th» total sum received from the weekly collections and from the sale of books wai.£735, the expenses amounting to £461. , The cost of printing the song books was £144, printing and advertising amounted to £244, and rent of hall £42. Donation* have been made to local benevolent organ, isations as follows: —£26 each to Biater Esther, Sister Hannah, Prisoners' Aid Society, Benevolent Society, City Mission. Methodist Mission, and Protection of. Women ant 1 Children; £13 each to Salvation Army, Presbyterian orphanage (Rev., i F. R. Jeffreys), St. Vincent de Pail,' Ambulance Nurses' Comfort Fund, Little" ''", V Sisters of tht> Poor, and St. John Ambulance, and £10 10b to the Flying Angel Mission.
