A campaign to raise' money for the erection of a cenotaph on the banks of the Mangaokewa River opened on Saturday. A committee, consisting of the Mayor, Mr. H. Hine, Messrs. H. T. Morton and D. Kennedy, raised tin sum of £215 in two hours. Great enthusiasm is boing shown on all sides and it is intended to make the campaign as brief as possible. The memorial is to be made of New Zealand marble and granite, and ia to be SOftfc high* • -
