A campaign to raise' money for the erection of a cenotaph on the banks of the Mangaokewa River opened on Saturday. A committee, consisting of the Mayor, Mr. H. Hine, Messrs. H. T. Morton and D. Kennedy, raised tin sum of £215 in two hours. Great enthusiasm is boing shown on all sides and it is intended to make the campaign as brief as possible.
